Seven Tips to a Good Night's Sleep

Want a better night's sleep? Try the following:

•  If you consume a lot of caffeine, cut down. Avoid caffeinated products in the early evening or before bedtime. Avoid consuming large quantities of alcohol, studies have shown that it interferes with a good night's sleep.

•  Drink less fluid before going to sleep unless you have a medical condition that requires you to do otherwise.

•  Avoid heavy meals close to bedtime.

•  Avoid nicotine.

•  Exercise regularly, but do so in the daytime, preferably after noon.

•  Try a relaxing routine, like soaking in hot water (a hot tub or bath) before bedtime.

•  Establish a regular bedtime and wake time schedule.
