Four shipping lines launch new Asia-Black Sea
service
CSCL, Yang Ming, "K" Line and Zim have launched a new Asia-Black Sea express service (ABX), reports Xinhua.The four shipping lines will deploy seven 4,250 TEU container vessels on the service with CSCL providing four ships and the other three companies providing one each.The port rotation ABX is: Shanghai , Ningbo , Shekou, Nansha, Port Kelang, Istanbul , Constanza, Ilyichevsk and Shanghai .

PIL, Wan Hai Lines to start new Far East to Black Sea service

PACIFIC International Lines (PIL) and Wan Hai Lines will launch a new Far East to the Black Sea container shipping service at the end of November. Initially, four vessels of about 2,800 TEU will be deployed to provide the fortnightly service, and by mid-February 2008 the service will be weekly. PIL will provide four vessels and Wai Hai, three.

The port rotation will be: Shanghai , Ningbo , Shekou , Singapore , Port Said , Istanbul , Constanza, Illichevsk, Jeddah , Singapore , Shanghai .

The new Far East-Black Sea service will offer a transit time of 19 days from Shanghai to Port Said and 22 days to Istanbul . With the Black Sea service, both PIL and Wan Hai will be able to leverage their existing networks covering Asia, Europe and the US to provide comprehensive services, a statement said.

World Shipping Summit 2007 in Tianjin on 1st November
WORLD Shipping ( China ) Summit 2007, one of the industry's most important events, is to be held November 1 - 2 in Tianjin , Xinhua reported. Nearly 1,000 representatives from government, industry from home and abroad will attend a conference to discuss co-operation between finance and shipping, port congestion, expansion, exploration of new markets, mergers and acquisitions, freight rates, costs and business opportunities in new markets.
