RCT - Riyadh

To maintain the safety procedure during customs inspection & offloading at consignees' stores, the Saudi Railway Organization has requested all concern to advise their principals and suppliers to comply with the rules and regulations of International Marine Services as in all cargo inside containers & arriving at Riyadh Dry Port via Dammam sea port must be palletized.

Any violation to the above will be imposed with a penalty for non-palletize cargo for each container as below and such penalty has took effect on February 20, 2009 :-

•  SR 1000/20' 

•  SR 1500/40' 

Please note that the individual package of separate Bills of Lading up to 50 kgs can be handled manually and may not be palletized but package of uniform size under any Bills of Lading must be unitized and palletized.

 

Country of Origin Stamp on all Materials

This is to inform that as per strict directives from the Customs Authority, Country of Origin / Made in ... must be mentioned (engraved or affixed - non removable sticker) on each item & also should be shown on the boxes/cartons.

Also, if the shipment is originating from any European country then the exact country of the item manufactured / produced must be mentioned in Certificate of origin instead of “EUROPEAN UNION”. If one package / carton contain shipments from various countries, then each item should show its own country of origin.

Failing which, the authority will not allow affixing the country of origin the item anymore and will lead to returning (re expo) of the shipment to its origin shippers/consignee's cost without any prior notice. It is applicable for all shipments arriving at Ports of Entry Jeddah, Dammam and Riyadh after 1 February 2009.

Please ensure that all your customers are well aware of the Customs requirements & comply without fail. Any shipment came without complying with the Customs requirements, the importer on record will be fully responsible for whatever delays and demurrages, detention charges, etc that occurred and will be billed back under a single line explanation demurrage / detention / extra manpower / labors hours cost.
