Guidelines for personal effect shipments into Indonesia

Pls be guided of the following stipulated procedures for personal effect shipments into Indonesia .

1. For personal effect, cnee must complete below mentioned documentations/ papers required by customs for clearance:

•  Copy of passport

•  Original invoice

•  Original packing list

•  Letter of statement from embassy/ consulate/ office confirming the relocation of the said person.

•  Letter of statement from consignee that the goods moved are really personal belongings or re-sales.

Additional for POD Semarang , the personal effect shipments are always categorized as RED LINE by customs and insurance will be needed.  If shipper is sending used electronic goods, it ' s advisable to remove the box.

2. Import which is not categorized as personal effects but ownership under a person (cnee show personal name/details) must ensure the following things:

•  Cnee must have permit or borrow permit from a company which has import permit of the said imported goods otherwise cargo cannot clear out and have to be returned.

•  Cnee must agree to pay the import duty/ tax.

•  Cnee must have his/ her own customs broker to handle clearance at customs office and truck goods to his/ her own warehouse.

All imported goods which is not taken by cnee under whatever reasons will either go into auction (as already informed before) or be destroyed (or sent back to POL if required) and all costs incur (storage; import local charge; freight; customs clearance; disposal; handling, etc) will be under account of shipper or POL agent (or under account of cnee if already had agreement and approved by cnee).

Kindly ensure the above advice is passed onto shippers so as to facilitate smooth custom clearance of personal effect shipments into Indonesia .
