Globelink WestStar Achievements for the past 20 years

 

In year 1989 , West Star shipping was formed by Martin J. Aranha, however owing to

Gulf War the real operation could not able to start.

Operation had resumed in September 1991/ first main Activity was being a FCL Export forwarding/ Customs Clearance. While in 1996, Export Consolidation activity was been in progress.

In year 1997, Globelink West star signed up with CWT Globelink Group (then part of PSA) as their Exclusive agent in the Gulf region and this brought in their inbound consol.

Started the Import Sales Department in view to service the growing need of importers seeking freight support both inbound and third percipients in 1998.  

In year 1999 , they have been on track with their first overseas office in New Jersey / USA , while in year 2000, Air Freight in Dubai started and their own customs Bonded CFS/Warehouse at Jebel Ali was established.

In year 2002, a new office has been launched in Abu Dhabi , while Warehousing facility at Al Quoze, warehouse and office at the Dubai Air Cargo Village – Globelink Weststar airfreight team were established in year 2006 .

A year after, Globelink West Star established Air Freight office at Sharjah Airport, in addition they started sales Office at Sharjah Free Zone and Al Quoze, Warehouse at Mussafah Abu Dhabi was established as well in the year 2007.

Soon after, they laid the foundation stone for second phase Warehousing / Logistics facility at Jebel Ali Free Zone (South). The Warehousing and Logistics facility inauguration was held on 24 th of June 2009.

Currently, Kuwait office was officially established, functionally waiting to be operational for its inauguration. (Details will be published on next month issue).

This new office will strengthen CWT Globelink presence with now more than – offices (still counting) in Singapore (HQ), China , Malaysia , Thailand , Indonesia , Vietnam , Australia , India , Pakistan , Sri Lanka , U.A.E and Korea .

“Business outlook is similar to first quarter with a volatile market in terms of business as well as freight rates.  An aggressive trade is the only key to overcome this difficulty.

In completion of the first quarter, it was relatively successful meeting target on most of the departments (though our projected revenues were quiet high). We will be focusing on developing other territories and penetrate into emerging markets such as North Africa, Indian Ocean Islands ”
