CWT Globelink has had another challenging and rewarding year in 2006.
In 2006, CWT Globelink extended its wings to Egypt and Spain. We also expanded our coverage in India from 2 to 22 locations. Today, CWT Globelink operates from 75 offices in 14 countries. It has further strengthened CWT Globelink's position as a global Leading Consolidator.
The groupage market in many Asian locations remains competitive. Many locations are selling negative freight due to keen competition. Carrier's rates remain high despite increased shipping capacity.
Nevertheless, CWT Globelink continues our strive to enhance our service & performance through a strong and integrated network. New direct trade lanes were established to offer better options to the customers. New transshipment hubs like Pusan, Colombo and Shenzhen continue to grow together with the traditional transshipment hubs in Singapore and Port Klang. South China has launched its e-booking system in Xiamen where the customers receive real time status of cargo. The system was well received by the customers and will be introduced in other South China offices in 2007.
To move forward, CWT Globelink will continue our growth strategy to further enhance our network coverage. In addition to the core business in groupage operations, CWT Globelink will explore and capitalize on our strong network to develop other related businesses like forwarding, project cargo, air freight etc. We will set up own CFS, customs brokerage services where possible to provide seamless service to customers. Carrier rates negotiation will be the continual effort for the group to remain competitive.
We have come so far only through the support, dedication and hard work of everyone in the CWT Globelink family and in the CWT Globelink network. For us to surge ahead and achieve our desired goals, we will continue to rely on the same commitment, innovativeness and 110% determination from everyone in the group constantly pulling our strengths together.
