Panalpina opens centralized services centre in Wuhan
FORWARDING and logistics group Panalpina has opened a Centralised Services Centre (CSC) in the central Chinese City of Wuhan to provide a wider service portfolio to Panalpina Greater China.
A company statement said that its objective is to provide 24/7 services whenever requested, to enable the CSC to potentially offer services to other Panalpina areas outside of Greater China as well as within.
"Panalpina China is well equipped to cater for combined air freight and ocean freight services as well as specialised requests. In addition, our road and rail solutions provide an extensive transport network to reach the farthest corners of China," said CEO Monika Ribar.
"In addition to the CSC set up, Panalpina will strive to open its own operational entity in Wuhan as to gather to the demands of our clients and build on the developing direct transport modes into and out of Wuhan. We will continue discussions with the Wuhan authorities as to have an operational entity opened during the first half of 2010," she added.
