AQIS Changes to Packing Declarations /Treatments on or after 01st August 2009
The Australian Quarantine & Inspection Services (AQIS) has officially notified industry of changes to their acceptable packing declarations and treatment certificates to certain wooden packaging materials for the shipments arriving into Australia on or after 01 st August 2009.
We will notify all our overseas offices to alert current shippers and also suggest reverting advice to your overseas suppliers to action against consignments departing origin ports arriving into Australia on / after 01 st August 2009.
NB: Packing Declarations to include below statements as appropriate for FCL & LCL consignments;-
Prohibited packaging material statement
Timber packaging/dunnage statement
Bark statement
Cleanliness declaration – (for FCL consignments only).
NB: Fumigation Certificates – now require including the “Plastic Wrap Declaration”
Plastic Wrap Declaration – This consignment has been fumigated prior to application of plastic wrapping or plastic wrapping in the consignment conforms to AQIS wrapping and perforation standard as found in the AQIS Methyl Bromide Fumigation Standard.
In future , please do not load any cargo's to Chennai without marks and numbers details, so we request you to kindly affix at least the name of consignee name label on packages & the mentioned the same in bill of lading copy additionally.
In case the Bill of Lading or the cargo does not indicate any marks and numbers details, GL Chennai is not liable for wrong delivery and further consequences.
